Not so long ago, a core team of PSIans got together to give shape to PSI Mitr. What started as a ‘Passion’ project is now not only a mission, but also our corporate outreach program. The Passion here embodies the Aditya Birla Group’s corporate value of Passion. We encourage and assist employees to take up, in their personal time, socially relevant projects to improve quality of community life.
PSI Mitr is an employee-driven, employee-managed initiative that supports community causes. The name signifies its mission: mitr means friend in India.
PSIans work on PSI Mitr’s many activities on a completely voluntary basis. They choose the projects they feel good about and contribute time, organizational skills, networking and resources. On its side the Company steps in with its infrastructure, funds and mobilization.
Being an IT company, PSI’s offices are located in urban, well-heeled, educated communities. The PSI Mitr mission is all about reaching out to the not-so-advantaged, needy folk in these communities, with a four-pronged approach. All its projects are chosen on these criteria. Also to make PSI Mitr’s mission as inclusive as possible, PSIans chose to work in several areas which are banded together to provide 3 of the broad areas where they enjoy working: |
